I am Jack Marshall

“I’m not disabled, I’m unique,” says Yorkshire Young Achiever of the Year Jack.

Here Jack shares his journey of how he has defied the odds and not only learned to walk but climbed mountains for charity as well as completing a law degree and he is now writing a book.

Jack hopes to use his platforms to champion other disabled people and their carers.

He adds: “My abilities far outweigh my disabilities.”

About Me

Dream. Believe. Achieve.

I have Moebius Syndrome, a rare condition which affects my life in many ways. I’m blind in one eye and I have reduced hearing; my condition drastically affects my coordination and balance and my legs are severely disabled.

This journey has led me to scaling some of the highest mountains, jumping out of planes, heading to Downing Street, carrying the olympic baton, completing 10k races, meeting lots of celebrities, winning awards and most of all raising thousands of pounds for charity.

Would I ask to be born without my disability? Not a chance. I have learned to love my life.

How You Can Help

#MoreThanMainstream Campaign

I’ve realised in life nobody is “normal” just some people fit into mainstream of society and others like us may struggle but once we find our space we discover a life which is more than mainstream, our journey is unique. Challenging but beautiful. Join me in celebrating all of us by using the hashtag.

‘The boy who can’t smile’ Book

I’m in the process of finishing my first book which will help other people with disabilities and their support network through our shared experiences and inspiration from the people I’ve met along the way. Please support here.
